| This is a one to two-year clinical fellowship
for one to two physicians who have a special interest in cutaneous
oncology and dermatology. The objective of the fellowship is to
provide clinical expertise in melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma; and
opportunities for clinical research in melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma.
The fellows have the opportunity to work closely with the Department's
cutaneous oncology faculty. They gain extensive experience in the
diagnosis of malignant melanoma and the management of patients with
this disease. In addition, they are exposed to clinical trials using
novel treatments such as vaccines for patients with melanoma. They
also gain exposure to the management of patients with cutaneous
lymphoma. The fellows are an integral member of the multi-disciplinary
team of physicians from a variety of specialties including dermatology,
dermatopathology, ENT, medical and surgical oncology and psychology
that assist in the care of patients with melanoma. In addition to
clinic responsibilities there are numerous opportunities for basic
science and clinical research and the chance to attend dermatology
grand rounds and resident educational sessions. |
